Just yesterday, I was stating that if Barack Obama wanted to win, he needed to stop making the decision to invest in Joe Biden, sell short and invest in Hillary.

The conventional wisdom is that once you choose your VP, you have to stick with that choice. That's conventional crap, not wisdom.

If you have a sports team or an army or a business team that is not matching up well against a competitor, you make a change in your line up to meet the new challenge and you proceed from there.

Obama/Biden are very poorly matched against McCain/Palin.

If Obama wants to win, he needs to change the game (just like McCain did when he picked Palin) and find a graceful exit for Joe Biden and a magnificent entrance for Hillary Clinton.

Obama is no dummy, but the question is whether or not he is stubborn. I've known a lot of smart people that never could get past their own pride and hubris. Obama is meeting with Bill Clinton Harlem today. If Obama is smart, he will be talking with Bill about how to do this.

Now, personally I like Joe Biden. He's not only a smart guy, but he does not suffer from an over developed sense of pride nor does he seem to be afflicted with hubris.

He can also see the writing on the wall. Obama/Biden is going to lose to McCain/Palin.

Biden knows that the outcome of this election is more important than himself and I think this is why he called it like he saw it when he said that Hillary would have been a better choice than himself.

This is remarkable as he is already standing up to his potential boss Barack Obama and telling him that the emperor is running around bare assed right now, and he better cover himself before election day gets here. That's not something Edwards had the ability to do 4 years ago and not even something Lieberman was capable of either.

Biden is cut from a different mold, and can see that if Obama doesn't make the switch soon, this race is going to be over unless Democrats get very very lucky, but that's not likely to happen. When's the last time Democrats got lucky?
