This is Fibonacci with another installment of Applying Huna to Business.
In this episode, I recount a story of a "Go-Live Readiness Review" meeting where we caught a product deficiency before we released it to the user community.
We delegated greater authority to one team member to make sure that her colleagues got a bunch of data integrity tasks completed in the next few days.
I explain how I worked with this person to reset the way she thought about her new role and in a very few Instant Messages turned her emotions from defeating to empowering.
This conversation can provide a template for any number of professional situations to drive high performance.

Fibonacci: how does your new-found jurisdiction feel? good?
Fibonacci: How does it feel to have the teams' trust?
TeamMember: right now it feels bad because i feel like i failed when i didn't know i was in charge
Fibonacci: well, you just need to change the way you think about that.
TeamMember: sounds like a joe-ism
Fibonacci: The truth is that you were just recently deemed to be in charge
Fibonacci: I submit this: we all very recently recognized that you're the team's key to getting the data side of the project in line.
TeamMember: wow
Fibonacci: and that should make you feel very good about your capabilities.
Fibonacci: and your image on the team
TeamMember: i guess i can have a good weekend now!
Fibonacci: high-five!
TeamMember: THANKS! I DO feel better now
