Teaching a Bassett Hound to Swim
This summer we took another try at teaching Ruebens the Bassett Hound to swim. Unlike last time, this time we put a life jacket on him.
Last year, when he attempted to swim, he tended to bob up and down vertically and never figured out how to balance his dog body in the water and paddle with his feet.
I should note, that Ruebens really likes the water and seems to want to swim. We are not forcing this on him, he just wants to be in the water with the rest of the kids I think. -
