This haiku encourages people to adopt puppies from their local shelter. If you are thinking about adopting a puppy, I encourage you to get one from the animal shelter. And make sure you get that critter fixed.

Here's the haiku: Puppies are four legged/joy dispensers, find delight/at local shelter

If you want to participate in the adopt a puppy at your local shelter haiku contest, just write an original haiku. It must have the word "Puppy" and "Shelter" in it, and encourage people to adopt a puppy from a shelter.

A haiku is simply a 3 line poem with this structure:

1st line: 5 syllables
2nd line: 7 syllables
3d line: 5 syllables.
